26) In avoiding false teachers. How to deal with heretics while praying and working towards unity. Romans 16 vs 17-18 teaches Christians to avoid those who come to bring false teachings, things that go against what is learnt from the Holy Scriptures. Paul the apostle of Jesus Christ inspired by the Holy Spirit says to the Church. Now I beseech you, brethren mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. We are to avoid false teachers and not those who are open to biblical correction.

A) Christians are to work with other Christian Churches of different denominations whenever possible, Churches together is a Biblical principle, however due to the many unrepentant heretical teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, it is unscriptural to support the Catholic Church. Churches who support ecumenicalism with the Roman Catholic church are scripturaly in the wrong. Its literally patting people on the back to hell. Many pastors know deep down from the Bible that Roman Catholic people are in the wrong Church, but fear to say anything.
James 3 vs 1 warns Christian leaders that we will receive. The stricter Judgment. The greater condemnation. History reveals that right through the ages Christians have wanted to see Roman Catholic people saved and out of the Roman Catholic church to grow up in biblical truth. Within the churches slipping into apostasy this is no longer true, the heretical practices and teachings of the Roman Catholic church are never spoken out against.
We are to love the Roman Catholic people enough to tell them the truth about what the bible really says. Only 70 years ago most Christian leaders prayed for the salvation of their Roman Catholic friends and warned their congregations about the Pope and his false teachings. Today fulfilling end time prophesies the Pope is now honored as a great Christian leader by the churches that are slowly slipping into apostasy. Some even esteem the Pope as the vicar of Christ on earth the overall leader of the whole Church of Christ. Lets be clear. Praying to the saints is heresy. Worshiping the emblems at the Lord's Table is idolatry.
The teaching of purgatory is a denial of Jesus finished work on the Cross etc. We ought to want to see our Roman Catholic friends saved and out of Rome, to grow up in the truth of God's Holy Word.
The only way this can happen is to be obedient to Jesus, and to reach out to them in love and truth.
